Service members who need documents notarized on short notice can book a mobile notary who comes to them, often the same day, so paperwork doesn't eat into the last few days before a deployment, a move, or the end of leave. Signed On Time travels across Southwest Ohio, including the Dayton and Wright-Patterson area in Greene and Montgomery counties, to notarize signatures on documents you already have prepared.
Common requests include powers of attorney so a spouse or parent can handle bills, vehicles, or a lease; consent forms for a child's care or travel; affidavits; vehicle title paperwork; and real estate documents for a home sale or rental. The base legal office can prepare many of these documents for free. Once they are prepared, a civilian mobile notary can notarize the signatures if the military notary isn't available on your timeline.
An Ohio notary can notarize a signature on a power of attorney prepared by a base legal office or a private attorney, as long as the signer appears in person with valid ID and the document calls for a notarial act. I don't draft the power of attorney or advise on what powers to include; that stays with your legal assistance office or attorney.
A Common Access Card (CAC) or other current government-issued photo ID such as a driver's license or passport. Family members who are signing need their own current photo ID. The name on the ID should match the name on the document.
Same-day and evening appointments are often available, seven days a week from 7 AM to 10 PM. The notary meets you at home, on your way out, or at another agreed location. Call (513) 226-9052 and say it's time-sensitive.
Ohio allows a notary to charge up to $5 per notarial act. A mobile appointment also includes a travel fee that depends on location and timing, and the total is quoted in full before the appointment.
Bring your document unsigned and a valid government-issued photo ID. If witnesses are required, we will let you know when you schedule.
Wills, Estate & Hospital Guides
A mobile notary can come to an aging parent's home to notarize a power of attorney, health care documents, or a will-related affidavit, without a trip to an office.
A mobile notary can come to a rehab or skilled nursing facility in Wilmington, Blanchester, Sabina, and across Clinton County to notarize a patient's signature.
A will does not need notarization to be valid in Ohio. Two witnesses and the right signatures are required. Notarization applies only to the optional self-proving affidavit.
