If you are selling a car in Ohio and the buyer cannot meet you to sign, the sale does not have to wait. In Ohio, the signature that gets notarized on a vehicle title is the seller's, and the buyer does not need to be present for that part. Yes. The signature Ohio requires to be notarized on a vehicle title is the seller's, and I notarize that signature when you sign in front of me. The buyer does not need to attend the appointment for this. A buyer who is out of town, at work, or in another state is not a reason the title cannot be signed and notarized.
This is in-person, mobile notarization. All service is done face to face, so you sign in front of me and I confirm your identity at the appointment. You can read how this fits the full Ohio title rules before we meet.
The title has to be complete before you sign, which means the buyer's name and address are already written in. If the buyer will not be at the appointment, get that information from them ahead of time and fill it in first.
Sign only in front of the notary. A title that is already signed cannot be notarized, so leave the seller's signature line blank until I am there. Signing early is the most common reason a title has to be redone.
Bring these to the appointment so we can finish in one visit:
A bill of sale is a separate document from the title. Ohio does not require one for a typical vehicle sale, but it records the price and protects both the buyer and the seller. I can notarize your signature on a bill of sale without the buyer present, as long as you appear in person, the same way the title works.
After I notarize your signature, the rest of the transfer is the buyer's responsibility, and I do none of it. The buyer files the title at the County Clerk of Courts Title Office within thirty days, pays the sales tax and the title fee, then registers the vehicle with the Ohio BMV. You can confirm the current filing steps on the Ohio BMV titles page.
I notarize the seller's signature. I do not file the title, choose the document, give legal advice, or decide whether the paperwork is complete for the BMV. Those steps belong to you, the buyer, and the county title office.
I travel to you across six counties in Southwest Ohio: Hamilton, Warren, Montgomery, Butler, Greene, and Clinton, the area between Cincinnati and Dayton. Signed On Time is based in Waynesville, Ohio 45068, and mobile service means I come to your home, your office, a parking lot, or another agreed location rather than you driving to find a notary. See how I work as a mobile notary across Cincinnati and Dayton if your sale is in one of those cities.
We have lived, worked, and shopped in this area for 32 years. Many of the communities we serve are rural, where it can be hard to find a notary who will travel to you, so coming to the signer is the point of the service.
Pricing has a few parts, and I confirm the total before your appointment so there are no surprises.

I have been a commissioned Ohio Notary Public since July 28, 2017, I'm NNA Certified, I carry a 2 million dollar errors and omissions policy, and I complete a yearly background screening. Signed On Time is veteran-owned, and I bring 25+ years of commercial and residential lending experience to signings, so title and closing paperwork is familiar ground. My role is to be an impartial witness to your signature, verify your identity, complete the notarial act, and keep the required record.
Regular hours are 7 AM to 10 PM, seven days a week, and same-day appointments are available, subject to the current schedule, location, travel distance, and timing. Need something outside those hours? Call (513) 226-9052 and I will accommodate the request whenever I can. You can also see the range of mobile vehicle title notary work I handle.
Call or text (513) 226-9052, or use the booking page to request a time. Tell me your location, when you need to sign, and that it is a vehicle title with the buyer not present, and I will confirm the appointment and the total before we meet.
No. Only the seller's signature on the title is notarized, and the buyer does not need to attend. Make sure the buyer's name and address are filled in on the title before you sign, since the title must be complete before the seller signs.
Often, yes. Regular hours are 7 AM to 10 PM, seven days a week, and same-day appointments are available depending on the current schedule, your location, travel distance, and timing. If you need a time outside regular hours, call (513) 226-9052 and I will accommodate the request whenever I can.
No. All Signed On Time service is in person and mobile. For an Ohio car title the buyer does not need to sign in front of a notary anyway, so only you, the seller, sign in front of me while the buyer's information is already written on the title.
That needs a look before the appointment, because the name on your photo ID must match the name on the title for the notarial act. Call (513) 226-9052 with the title in front of you and we can go over your situation rather than guess. A notary notarizes signatures and verifies identity; the county title office handles questions about name changes and corrections on the title itself.
Have the unsigned title and a valid photo ID ready. If buyer and seller cannot meet at the same time, let us know — we handle separate signings the same day.
